Wellness Exams East Bay Animal Hospital recommends two wellness exams each year for your pet.
Their first annual exam accompanies distemper and other recommended vaccines, heartworm testing and fecal testing.
Six months later a Junior Wellness Exam (for pets through age 6) or Senior Wellness Exam (for pets age 7 and up) will provide important baselines for future comparison and detect hidden abnormalities before your pet is exhibiting symptoms.
If caught early, some age-related and/or breed related diseases can often be successfully controlled through simple changes in diet along with certain medications, thus avoiding unnecessary expenses for you and unnecessary discomfort for your pet.
What should you bring to your pet's wellness exam?
Your pet!
Questions and/or concerns about your pets health, activity and behavior.
Stool sample (we only need about ½ teaspoon of a recent bowel movement).
If this is Junior or Senior Wellness exam time, please bring a fresh urine specimen if possible. We will only need about one tablespoon.

Dentistry Just like you, your pet should have their teeth brushed daily and a professional cleaning once per year. Dental disease doesn’t affect just the mouth. It can lead to more serious health problems including heart, lung and kidney disease, which makes it all the more important you provide your pets with proper dental care from the start.
We at East Bay Animal Hospital place a great deal of emphasis prevention of disease through promoting proper dental hygiene. We would be happy to aide you in designing a home dental care program for your pet.

General Surgery Our doctors perform a wide range of soft tissue, orthopedic and reconstructive surgery.If needed a referral to an appropriate specialist can be provided.
Surgical procedures are performed Monday through Friday at East Bay Animal Hospital. We use anesthetic protocols with pulse oximetry and apnea monitoring of anesthetized patients, to ensure maximum safety to those animals entrusted in our care. (This translates to expert nursing care and the most “pain free” surgery we can give to your pet!)

Treatment Our treatment room is a very busy place, with a variety of sounds, ranging from the hum of IV pumps, to the beeping of respiratory and heart monitors. This is where our critical care patients are monitored, surgical patients are prepared, and radiological and dental procedures are performed. East Bay Animal Hospital takes great care in securing and maintaining your pet’s comfort while reducing your pet’s stress due to stimulus in the treatment area.
Should your pet require an extended stay due to treatment, we would love for you and your family to visit as often as possible.

Boarding Your pet’s home away from home!!
Our goal is to duplicate the “home” atmosphere as much as possible while you are away, while still maintaining our rigid hygienic standards. Our kennel attendants, all pet owners and lovers, will care for your furry family members as if they were their own! We also feel this will give pet owners “peace of mind” knowing we care for their pets as much as they do!
Our canine boarders receive outdoor playtime three times a day and comfortable bedding. You are encouraged to bring your pet’s normal food to help prevent upset tummies. We also encourage you to bring “a warm fuzzy reminder of home” for your pet in the form of a favorite toy.
Please be sure to use a permanent marker to put your pet’s name on the toy

However, if you are planning a vacation during the summer or during holidays, reserve your pet’s space early as we tend to fill up quickly!

Day Care Whether your puppy needs proper socialization skills needed to develop into a balanced healthy and happy pet, or your older pet just doesn’t like to be home alone anymore, we are your answer! Our Day Care program includes play time up to three times each day and lots of activity to watch.
Pets in Day Care may also take advantage of personalized visits from our trainer. This is a great opportunity for your pet to learn new behaviors or extinguish some behaviors you’d just as soon do without!

Training Progressive Animal Training is the official training company of East Bay Animal Hospital. Puppy Etiquette classes, Kitten Etiquette and Advanced Etiquette classes help your pet learn to be a polite, well-rounded member of your family.
Puppy Playtime features structured games to enhance your puppy's social skills and give you strategies towards raising a well adjusted member of your family. Classes are available at East Bay Animal Hospital or in the privacy of your own home!
For your pet, we also offer Training While Boarding or during day care.
